SCULPTURAL WEAVING WORKSHOP

In this workshop, we will explore sculptural weaving techniques using a loom, delving into the possibilities of creating three-dimensional textile forms. Participants will learn about the history of basketry and sculptural weaving while discovering innovative methods that go beyond traditional flat surfaces. We will also examine various approaches to three-dimensional weaving and explore the work of contemporary artists who incorporate weaving into their sculptural practices.
Throughout the process, we will engage with the meditative nature of weaving while developing an understanding of form, color, texture, and visual composition in space.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own unique sculptural textile piece and leave with a finished creation to take home.

LINOLEUM BLOCK PRINTING WORKSHOP

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of linoleum block and printing a small edition of single-color prints. Through hands-on experimentation, students will become familiar with the tools and techniques used in the process to create a design. After finishing the workshop, you will be able to create your own linoleum block prints at home. Paper, fabric, ink, carving tools, and blocks will be provided. No previous experience necessary. Ages 16 and up are welcome.

INTRO TO WEAVING WORKSHOP

In this workshop, we will explore basic weaving techniques using a loom, learn about the history of weaving, and examine different types of looms and weaving methods.
