DOMESTIC ARCHAEOLOGY

Domestic Archaeology explores the home as a site of excavation, where the quiet labor of women, memory, and everyday objects become cultural artifacts. In this series, delicate crochet; once soft, tactile, and intimate is embedded within the permanence of concrete. These impressions act like uncovered relics, carrying the weight of touch, repetition, and time.

By casting lace into stone, the work preserves what is usually fragile and ephemeral. The domestic sphere, often overlooked, becomes a place worthy of archaeological attention: a landscape where gestures, craft traditions, and personal histories accumulate in layers. Each piece functions as a fragment of a larger narrative, an imprint of care, labor, and inheritance.

Domestic Archaeology asks what remains of the spaces we inhabit and the hands that shape them, inviting viewers to read the home as a field of memory, resilience, and quiet monumentality.
